Starting with the series’ pilot episode and running through to the ninth episode of the second season, the marathon will whet fans’ appetites and get them caught up on all the HOLLISTON hijinks, just in time for the season two finale on Tuesday, August 6.

As an added bonus, FEARnet will also be unveiling the world premiere of series character Lance Rockett’s (Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider) first music video. Fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at the music video exclusively on FEARnet, on Friday, August 2. The original song, itself, “Love It Down Your Throat,” will be made available for purchase on iTunes right after the season finale airs.

The brainchild of lifelong genre fan-turned-filmmaker Adam Green, HOLLISTON is an irreverent take on the traditional multi-camera situational comedy, aimed at lovers of true horror, sci-fi and pop culture. Starring Green and Joe Lynch (EVERLY, WRONG TURN 2), HOLLISTON is set in Green’s real life hometown of Holliston, Massachusetts, and follows the daily exploits of Adam and Joe—two aspiring horror filmmakers, dealing with the struggles of post-college life and relationships, while trying to make their big break in the business. The talented ensemble cast includes Corri English (UNREST, DEVIL MAY CALL), Laura Ortiz (THE HILLS HAVE EYES, HAPPY ENDINGS), Dave Brockie (alien frontman “Oderus Urungus” from the heavy metal band GWAR), and Dee Snider (Twisted Sister).

Highlights of the marathon include a terrifying encounter with a hard-partying Tony Todd (CANDYMAN); ill-fated run-ins with Danielle Harris (HATCHET III), Kane Hodder (FRIDAY THE 13TH VII-IX), and John Landis at a horror convention; a Christmas Special with a madman on the loose; an animated episode that sees the town attacked by a giant blob; a RINGU-inspired J-Horror episode; a Found Footage episode; and appearances from genre stars such as Bill Moseley (TEXAS CHAINSAW), Sid Haig (THE LORDS OF SALEM), David Naughton (AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON), and Bailee Madison (DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK).

Press Release: Kickstarter Project to Bring Unconventional Tale of the Undead to Life

WRITER AND DIRECTOR, MITCH COHEN, ENLISTS GEEK COMMUNITY AT SDCC
TO BRING UNCONVENTIONAL TALE OF THE UNDEAD TO LIFE
Unlikely hero of unique zombie apocalypse film “Super Zero” finds 15-minutes of fame in end of days

LOS ANGELES – July 17, 2013 – If fervor and preparedness were enough to make a film in Hollywood, viewers in movie theaters across the country would already be enjoying Mitch Cohen’s original  film, “Super Zero.”  However, since the one thing it does take to make a film is money, Cohen, a 36-year-old L.A.-based writer and director, recently launched a Kickstarter.com campaign – http://kck.st/15dN7BX – to make his vision for a new kind of zombie movie a reality.  The production team will head to Comic-con to rally the community.

Cohen, a father to two-year-old twins, who over the last few years has been responsible for some of the industry’s most recognizable video game campaigns, conceived the unconventional “geek culture” film years ago, but was forced to put his passion project on hold with the arrival of his children.  Now, with a little help from friends and strangers alike, Cohen and his team are hoping to raise $34,500 by July 31, 2013 to get the project off the ground.

An original take on a popular genre, Super Zero is described as the story of a geeky, shy and terminally ill teen, who rises from utter insignificance to become a zombie assassin and mankind's last hope for survival.  In traditional zombie films, by definition, the end of the world is the worst possible scenario for all characters.  In Cohen’s Super Zero, the film’s protagonist finally finds the purpose in his life while the rest of the world scrambles to save theirs.

“Super Zero is really an epic win for the average guy,” said Cohen of his film.  “The movie celebrates the overlooked, the eccentric and the powerless, combining sci-fi/horror with comic book-inspired action, irreverent comedy and a totally relatable and ultimately awesome average guy lead character.  Plus there are zombies…lots and lots of zombies!”

Cohen, a self-confessed lover of all things geek, further describes Super Zero as his personal love letter to the community.  He is hopeful that all those out there that may resemble him, or perhaps more aptly may identify with Super Zero’s protagonist, who is the everyday gamer/comic book kid, will be inspired to join his team and support the project.  Cohen also hopes he may strike a chord with other visionaries out there that understand the struggle to balance family and career.

“Kickstarter is an amazing tool for identifying and connecting with audiences that share your passion and vision, even before you’re able to bring it to the screen,” said Cohen.  “And much like the story behind Super Zero, it allows average folks to be a part of something extraordinary.”

Interested contributors can select pledge categories from $1 to $10,000+ and receive varying rewards for joining the Super Zero production team, including signed scripts, cameos in the film, set visits and on-screen production credits.

Additionally, Cohen's vision for Super Zero merely starts with the short film.  He hopes it’s just the first step on what he's designed as a complete new franchise.  "There are so many great things planned for this world and stories within it to tell.  And the most exciting aspect of it is that it’s perfect as a transmedia vehicle," said Cohen.  “The short feeds the feature film, which will be augmented by web content and even a video game.  I see it as an ecosystem of cool things to explore.”
Cohen, the film’s writer and director, is joined on Super Zero by Producer Shane Spiegel and Cinematographer Idan Menin.   For more information on Super Zero, the filmmakers and the Kickstarter campaign, please visit http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/811236299/super-zero-0?ref=live.

Press Release: New Indie Horror Short Film Ave Maria

Worcester is Premier Screening Locale for New Indie Horror Short Film “Ave Maria”

Horror Filmmaker Skip Shea Follows Up Cult Indie Favorite “Microcinema”

MASSACHUSETTS (June 24, 2013) –The new Skip Shea short horror film “Ave Maria,” the sequel to his 2011 award-winning cult horror hit short film “Microcinema,” will have its world premiere screening at Nick’s, 124 Milbury St., in Worcester on Tuesday, July 2, at 8 p.m. Spinning off from the story of the last famous castrato Alessandro Moreschi, who recorded the song of the same name in 1902, Shea takes horror fans into the haunted woods of New England to witness the twisted reenactment of an old Catholic tradition.

Written and directed by Shea and produced by Harvest Tide, “Ave Maria” stars Aurora Grabill and David Graziano, with Izzy Lee, Diana Porter and Jami Tennille and director of photography Nolan Yee. Shot on location in the Blackstone Valley, “Ave Maria” will also be featured in an upcoming documentary “Something Wicked This Way Comes” by Wicked Bird Media, a first-ever exploration into the connection between New England and contemporary horror culture.

The “Ave Maria” premiere will include a screening of “Microcinema,” which won Best Short Award at the Jersey Gore Film Festival, a Rondo Hatton honorable mention and scored on several best-of lists as a cult favorite with horror reviewers and fans alike. “Microcinema” is a revenge film that breaks tired formulas and Shea’s follow-up film “Ave Maria” takes revenge to another level.

Shea, a survivor of clergy sexual abuse that occurred in the Diocese of Worcester, has produced, written and directed numerous short films including “Mail;” “Video Diary: Last Entry;” “They Serve Breakfast Here All Day Long;” “Putting On Its Shoes;” “Choices;” “Out of the Night;” and “Children of the Asylum.” Among his awards are Best New England Film at the 2012 Massachusetts Independent Film Festival for “Choices;” Audience Award for Best Regional Short at the SENE Film Festival for “Children of the Asylum;” Shriekfest in Los Angeles named the feature length script for “Microcinema” a semi-finalist for Best Screenplay; and the 19th Annual Woods Hole Film Festival gave Shea’s screenplay “The Bar” runner-up for Best Comedy Short.

Shea also produced, wrote and performed the successful one-man theatrical show “Catholic (Surviving Abuse & Other Dead End Roads)” which debuted in New York City in 2005. The show went on to have a successful run at the Jimmy Tingle's Off Broadway Theater and toured the East Coast. Shea is also a published poet whose piece “Songs of Mourning,” a memorial to those killed in the September 11attacks in New York as well as to his daughter Shawna Shea, was selected by New York City jazz musician Jon Faddis to be performed at the 9/11 10th Anniversary Commemorative Concert performed at Symphony Space by the New York Chamber Music Festival.

Horror reviewers and bloggers are giving “Ave Maria” early kudos, among them are:
The Gruesome Hertzogg Radio Podcast gives it a 9 out of 10 rating!
The Killer Aphrodite calls it “an excellent short film”
Dr. Carnage calls Missy “one of the creepiest female characters I have ever witnessed in a horror movie.”
Super Duper Shock Cinema says that the “smart ending that betrays your perception of what’s happening.”
[Re] Search My Trash calls it “A haunting little movie that sets an act of extreme violence against a very beautiful scenery…”
Gemini Moon Media says “Ave Maria is a brutal look at revenge.”

The premiere screening of "Ave Maria" is free of charge. This film is adult in content.
